The big knives? Like the ones with 9-10 inch blades and up to 14 inch over all Length?

i have been know to put them on my belt horizontal on back......and leg/boot area....

I carry them on a belt. :D

Do you mean like with a leg tie? On a bag? In a bag? Over the shoulder? Mic dundee style?

In my teeth as I scale pirate ship rigging. :)

No, usually in a sheath with a leg tie OR if I'm carrying a backpack, upside-down with the sheath strapped to one of the backpacks shoulder straps.

I carry them with a kydex rig on my backpack or in a drop leg sheath strapped to my leg riding on a gunbelt if on my waist. Something that big has to be secure.

I usually carry mine with a strap over the shoulder on my chest bandoleer style. I do on occasion lash them to a walking stick.

Hey Guys..

High Ride, Vertical and tight to the body..
No leg straps, No flop, No bounce...

I think I am going to start carrying a fixed blade strapped to my backpack when I am in the woods. I think attaching the sheath to a shoulder strap sounds like a good idea, but what is the best way to strap it on there securely? What other ways do you guys attach knives to the outside of backpacks?

jus in my belt with the traditional style frog, i.e. Bagwell Style ensures qwuick draw and you always know where it is too :D

I use a thick leather belt with sturdy suspenders to carry the load. Fixed blades ride high, and that way they are out of the way and out of sight.

I am going to take a look at shoulder rigs, and see if that makes fixed blade carry easier and more accessible.
