some people might think this is a stupid question, but I am curious. do you just put it in your pocket with whatever else might be there? is it alone? in a sheet? around your neck?
one clippeed in the front right pocket and one in the back right pocket for folders. If i have a small fixed blade its in a sheath on the belt near front right pocket. Might try out the merc-harness thing though, easy to draw while sitting, like in the car and what not
Sometimes I want it on my belt (scout style, out of the way yet easy to get to), other times I want it on my leg (drop leg sheath is my preference for most of my larger knives)... Even a baldric for just hanging around camp with my larger blades (think crocodile dundee style carry) because it gets in the way less.
Most of my "other" blades go on my belt or in my bag, to be retrieved when I need them.
Folders:
Generally I carry right rear pocket, clipped to the top.
I don't like anything in my pockets, so both fixed and folders are on the belt in a sheath. I take the clips off the clipped one. I like my fixed blades to ride higher up on the belt for easy retrieval.
Since I work in an office setting and I'm not batman they go in pocket. SAK pioneer goes deep carry with a lanyard most of the time, occasionally a pocket clip style folder will tag along both in the front right pocket.
Pocket clip knives go in my right front pocket, pushed as far over to the right (for jeans) or bottom (for slacks & shorts) as it will go. SAK Classic SD goes on my keyring, which in turn goes in my right front pocket. Full-size SAK just drops in my right pocket, along with my keys. Never EDC'd a fixed blade (my only fixed blades are kitchen knives).
Depends on what I'm carrying, but I usually have a one-hander clipped to my right rear pocket and a traditional in my right front pocket. If it's a nice traditional with bone scales, I'll not have anything else in the pocket. If it's one with delrin scales, I might drop it in with my keys.
Primary clipped in my right, front pocket and the secondary (usually a folding utility- lately), in my left, front pocket; that's of course for edc. In the woods, a fixed blade strapped horizontal against my belt, at my back. For mountain biking, either a folder strapped on the chest strap of my water pack or a fixed strapped on the back of it. The fixed is usually my F1.
All folders. My big, single bladed folder goes into my right front pocket, and is clipped there with a foldover, deep-carry, pocket clip. Nothing else goes into that pocket. My slipjoint goes into my left front, along with my change, and my nitro pills. The little Leatherman Juice II goes into the outer pocket of my wallet, in my right rear pocket. It all works out well!
I always carry mine clipped on my right front pocket, with nothing else except a pen if i think to take one with me. Used to drop my phone in my RFP along with my knife but every time i took out my phone the knife would scratch it up, so now the phone goes in the LFP. If i am carrying a non sheeple friendly knife which most of the time i am, i will also clip my little Spyderco Dragonfly II into the lighter pocket of my jeans.
