I've done a ton of searches and i keep coming up with the Oxiclean treatment for darkening Ti.
It's ok if you want to get your items a darker shade of grey but Is there anything else that can be used to really make the Ti near black?
First I'll etch the ti to get an even coloration
Then neutralize the etching solution by placing the item in a distilled water bath.
Degrease the objects
Rinse them (all while wearing rubber gloves, blue nitrile)
By now the kettle is boiling, I put a full scoop of Oxiclean into an empty flat plastic container (kinda tupperware ish)
Pour the near boiling water in slowly so as to dissolve the Oxiclean evenly, stir it around a bit (all of this takes around 10 seconds)
Lay the Ti pieces flat and face up and let them sit for 30-45 min.
They come out darker but not nearly as dark as I'd like.... Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for the help
