How do you decide on which Spydie for EDC?

First off, I understand very well that the decision for an EDC should comply with your own personal requirements at work, home, etc.. For example, at work--cutting, opening up cardboard boxes, straps, hoses, etc., at home--cutting food, opening mail, etc..

Within the past few weeks, I have acquired a Calypso Jr. PE, a green Lum Chinese PE, and a numbered Vesuvius(#683)50/50 w/shell inlay. Because of this, I am at a point where I'm not too sure what Spydie to carry for EDC. I usually carry my Millie PE, but find it hard to leave the new Spydies at home. I have a serious urge to show my new Spydies to some KnifeKnut friends at work and to put them to use, to "test" them out. At the same time, I like to keep them NIB condition.

WHAT TO DO????

I figured that I would ask you, my fellow Spyderholics, for some advice in this matter. For general use, how do you go about choosing your Spydie EDC?

Bring em all in a spearate plastic bag so they don't get scratched?

All kidding aside. What do u do for a living? That should decide it. I say buy another one of each knife. one for the collection, and one for work

personally I will not buy a knife that I will not carry, so my situation is a little different. Carry what strikes you that day. Also, there is no law against carrying more than one blade (at least not yet:rolleyes: )

I always carry 2 Spydies...One is reserved as my "offensive/defensive knife", the other is used for everyday "utilitarian" tasks. That way, my "offensive/defensive knife" (Chinook or Endura) is always razor-sharp.

I wish I could decide on 1 EDC. I carry my Vesuvius, Police, Endura, and Shabaria. The first 3 get used for whatever. The Shabaria is kept razor sharp. :)

Blades

Like most, I grab whatever I feel is in line with the days activities. I bought a coffee mug from Bushmaster and it stays on my dresser. I stand up all my usual EDC knives in the Cup-O-Knives ready for selection every morning. I have had to thin out the cut since I got a few more EDCs than it will hold. Usually the cup holds a full size Sebenza, Merlin PE, Chinese Lum PE, Calypso Jr. PE, Mini-Dyad, Benchmade 690, and a Military PE. Wide range of applications.

I choose a model that will balance out and supplement whatever else I am carrying.

For example, if I am carrying an SAK or LM Pulse, which have plain edge spearpoint blades, I will generally choose a Rescue model. If I am carrying a LM Wave, which has its own (albeit inferior) serrated sheepsfoot blade, then I choose whatever plain edge Spydie that I feel like. If I am going small, with a LM Micra or SAK Rambler/Classic, then I'll add a Jester or Navigator.

Thanks for the feedback, you guys. Alot of good methods, especially that Cup-o-Knives, John.:)

I tend to carry two Spydies, one for general utility(Calypso Jr. PE, Native 35/65, or Endura SE (for tough cutting)) and one for SD(Military PE), along with my LM Wave or Supertool for my job...I'm a truck driver. I do also tend to carry the Spydies that I buy, but for some that I own I'd like to keep them NIB. At least for now.

For those of you out there that own a Lum Chinese, custom engraved Glasshart Endura or Delica, or a numbered Spydie, I'm sure that you know what I mean. ;)

I guess that I should go ahead and buy two of each.
