Reference the following thread regarding my newly received Busse Ruck Kensei from the Busse Custom Shop: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=527282&highlight=Ruck+Kensei
So... I've been contemplating for several weeks how to best display my Busse Ruck Kensei in my den/home office. I knew the perfect place for it.... up on top of my desk's bookshelf/cupboard area... but I didn't want to purchase a true katana kake (sword display) to display the blade and Okuden kydex sheath on because such a thing would taller than I wanted (in my opinion).
I decided two weeks ago that the only recourse to my dilemma was to fabricate my own sword display.... to the dimensions and size the suited me.
The following is what I came up with. What do you think? I'm pretty happy with it. In materials it only cost me in the neighborhood of $30.00... most of that was of course the oak wood that I used plus the wood stain. Everything else needed to construct the stand was readily available and sitting around in my garage or among my household tools. This is really only a weekend project if one cared to tackle it.
