I never knew i would have a collections of few thousand $ a year ago...

I started looking into a kind of display case that could "kind of" "resist" thief.

Something that would look like a normal safe but with a tempered glass that could resist a few heavy hit or something like that and that could be nice to look at.

My google skill doesn't seem to work which is weird.

Anyway, how do you store / display your knifes?

Like so, but without the annoying Velcro pocket flap. Back pocket carry is where its at. Otherwise they're sprawled out on my desk.

EDIT: In an effort to be somewhat helpful, I think you'll have to choose between security and display. You're not going to get both without spending more on the case than you've invested in the knives.

There's plenty of locking display cases on the market, but they're uglier than a standard display case, more expensive and won't protect the contents from anyone. Save maybe for some dopey teenager.

You could always do what gun folks do: arrange them nicely in a real safe and just leave it open when you're at home. Display when you want to display, protect when you don't.

A lot of my knives are expensive, but they’re users. They are in a 12 folder nylon fabric carry case with Velcro flap, very simple thing! My fixed blades are strewn throughout my knives, guns, and tools corner of the house. My very long slimline machete’s I slide behind the couch cushion vertically, so I can see all the handles, and pick my tool on my way out the door. I do a lot of brush clearing

Sadly, I don't use all of my knives all the time, like the rest of the folks do, so my more-purty knives are displayed in a bookcase/cabinet with glass doors when they are not in use...sure that kinda furniture has a name....

Just plastic tackle boxes. Simple and cheap. If I have something valuable it goes in the safe. There is always a trade off between display and security. Unless you have museum/bank level security, if a thief wants it bad enough they will get it.

If there is one sore point I learnt,
There is no such thing as a safe place
Especially so when it comes to the possibilities of theft.
Well, not if one is willing to
Invest in security measures
befitting a head of state...
Safe display of knives??!!
Well, If it was ever possible,
I would be wearing every single knife I own like "bling" :-)
But IMHO, don't make the mistake
Of placing everything in one single place.
Scatter the collection.
It's always better to be safe than sorry.
Stash, hide, or better yet get a safe deposit box for the
Most "Priced gems" in the collection.
I do understand that no "man cave" can ever be
considered worthy without some trophys to showcase to visiting tribesmen.
So, by all means go for a custom display case with standard fittings.
But invest in a CCTV video surveillance overhead camera.
Just think of the endless possibilities of being able to view your "precious" 24/7,
Anywhere, anyplace, anytime...
And pray very hard that no misfortune would ever befall your abode.

Why not get a Pelican Case?
Thinking as a theif: Thanks so much for isolating your valuables and attaching a handle!

I like pelican cases for travel, but for home storage they're a bit silly. The drop protection isn't necessary and if I were a theif I wouldn't even need to check the contents. Who would put junk in a pelican case? I'd just pick it up and go.

Well, I guess you could say I never "prepare for the worse" like some people. I just have a nice drawer with everything neatly arranged.

How do you display your knife ?
Well
usually
when I'm in a mood to display my knife . . .
I stand in the town square, hold the knife horizontally over my head and holllar at the top of my lungs
BONZI
BONZI
BONZI

THREE TIMES LIKE THAT.
The locals are used to it and try not to pay much attention.
The tourists react rather badly to it but we don't get many of those . . .
anymore.
:) :)

I bend over and pull my kilt up and moon the opposing army as my army exchanges personal insults ... then I stand proudly and thrust my knife ... umm weapon ... erm sword into the air ... oh wait sorry ... maybe that was that Braveheart fella ...

All but a few of my knives are users ... or backups for users and are kept in one of the gun safes ...

i would need a big box for these (and more are coming in a few weeks...) and i would love to have something to display them but yeah i see what you are saying, hiding them would be easier

Marcinek, around here we call that piece of furniture a curio cabinet.
I bought one off of a coworker for a case of beer. Never enjoyed my collection
so much until I displayed it in my home.
