Seriously, how do you folks stick with one knife for so long!!??
Anyone. Just.......HOW?
Every time I get a knife that I really like, I always think: "This is the one that i'm going to need to sharpen new bevels on". Or: "This is the one that will be handed down to my kids".
And within a month of owning it, I always find something wrong with it.
Ill give 2 examples.
My Griptilian and my love/hate relationship. I cant keep the insides clean from pocket fuzz, and the need to adjust it once a month really bothers me.

My Pioneer. I love it and I always will, but that Bladeplay in the screwdriver that you all have heard of by now really irks me.

How did you overcome these small issues in order to use it for a while?
Pictures along with your story are welcomed. :)
Thanks
Bladeboss

Loctite your Griptilian, wash your pants with the pocket flipped out so you have less lint to worry about, and lightly peen the pin in your Pioneer to reduce the wiggle? :)

I have loc-tited it. :)
I keep changing my mind on peening my Pioneer. Trying to decide if I should just use it and try not to care or try and fix it.........

Are you adjusting it for some reason other than pivot tension then? I've never applied Loctite to a pivot and had to adjust it soon after. In fact, I don't have to adjust or reapply until I decide to break the bond in order to open and clean the knife.

I have disassembled it probably 4 times since loctiting. :o

I've found that carrying knives is an extremely personal thing. I have grown very attached to 2 or 3 of my knives (2 being folders). I feel that it is extremely important to constantly check the condition of your blades, whether it they are folders or fixed. Checking that the mechanism deploys the blade smoothly, checking for proper lubrication/rust, checking that the blade is centered....I enjoy all of it! My OCD floats right to the surface when it comes to my gear! By doing these things, you ensure that your gear is always good to go - no matter what. I admit that I have the blade bug! I love knives and will always be on the look out for something new! I will continue to carry my blades of choice until I am physically unable to deploy them. At that point, I will pass them to my children unless they have found a blade(s) of their choice.
