How do you feel about the Ka-Bar D2 extreme vs the standard Ka-Bar combat knife?

If it were me, I would look at other options for the price that D2 version is going for. The standard one is pretty good though.

I've got the standard one, I'm just getting people's opinions on whether the D2 version is worth it. I know D2 is a good steel, and the price isn't that bad in my opinion. What other options do you suggest?

Oh hahaha I could have sworn that knife was, like, $230 or somewhere round that.

$100 for that seems like a pretty good deal.

Yeah, around 100$ isn't that much for a decent D2 steel knife.

I have the D2. It is well balanced and easy to maintain a good edge. However the serrated portion of the blade is a drawback for my purpose which is primarily working with wood. I tend to pick up my BK 2 or BK 7. Heck, my 1248 Cutlass gets used more than the D2.
For fighting or self defense use I would not hesitate to grab/carry the D2.

Oh. I was expecting it to come in a non-serrated blade as well.

I'd love one without the serrations. You can fit a standard pommel on the D2 version too.

I actually like the way the D2 version looks, it makes it easily identifiable compared to the standard one.
