The blade in my knife rattles a bit when shaken in the closed position. In the open position, there's no problem. I found out, from watching a video of Epic Snuggle Bunny, that this is referred to as detent play. I'm reasonably handy. How does one fix this?

Could there be a grain of sand in the detent ?
Does it seem like there is enough lock bar tension; if not pull the blade out and bend in the lock bar . . . possibly this could help ?

Thanks, man. You were spot on with your first idea of there being sand in the detent hole. At first I thought, "Naaaaaah. I'm a desk jockey, and I haven't been to the beach in years. I keep my knives clean, and they're mostly used for food prep or opening packages, so this isn't realistic." I went online to see how to fix this, and I came across a video that showed that you needed to seat the detent ball further in the hole, and he showed how to do this by very slightly enlarging the hole with a tungsten carbide bit. The next thing I know, I'm examining the detent hole, and there's grit in there! I forgot that I tumbled my blade in a rock tumbler full of rocks and 60-grit media, and that grit had worked its way into the hole. I used a toothpick to rummage out almost all of the crap in the hole, and that completely fixed the problem; she's solid as a rock, now. Thanks again!
