How do you get cat pee out of suede?

Well, you pee on the cat's mess and then you log onto here and ask how you remove human pee. It will get alot more hits:D . I would take it to the dry cleaners since I don't know anything about special formulas and whatnot. Hope you get it out!

Good Evening All-

Frank, there is a ton of ammonia in cat pee. Take it to a drycleaner who specializes in leather garments. Ask a motorcycle shop for a recommendation for a drycleaner who does a good job on riding jackets.

Your other (obvious) alternative is to toss the garment in the garbage and purchase a new one.

Rather than trying to harvest used cat pee from suede, I think it would be easier to get NEW pee directly from the cat.

I hate to ask this question, but what in the heck do you want with cat pee? The stuff is pretty worthless in Wisconsin. If you pay the freight, I can get you some.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to remove the nasty piss smell form your coat.

1. Ditch the coat.

2. Kill the cat.

3. Buy a new coat.

By following these simple steps your garments will be cat pee free for years to come. :D

It was a thrift store jacket, anyway. I was going to try to restore it but maybe I'll just used the unpeed on parts for sheath material. She's usually real good about using the litter box, tihs is the first time time I she's peed on anything in years.

Why bother cleaning it?...The cat WILL pee on it again...That's one of their "jobs".:D.

BTW...I re-read your last post, and seeing how your cat hasn't done that in a long time, she might be trying to "tell" you that something is wrong, such as a bladder infection...

It's some of that leather from south of the border that was cured in urine in the first place...

I guess I shoulda paid more attention to 'Posers post before my last one...

2. Kill the cat.

NOOO! She's just "being a cat". That's why I'm opposed to declawing (there should be a death penalty for that). It's all part of nature's plan for cats: to teach their owners humility.

I don't think so. Nature's plan for cats involves a #11 peppersteak combo with an eggroll and wonton soup.

K.V. Cats are the other white meat, and as such, do not belong in pepper steak, no matter how much you season it ;)

If killing the cat ain't an option...
Check out a product called "Nature's miracle". It is an enzymatic product that disolves the urine molecules so the odor is physically gone. I do not know if it will stain the fabric though.
Also, make sure your cat doesn't have a bladder infection... a trip to the vet is in order. Tell them that Mongo sent ya.
