Perhaps the thread s/b titled "Silly Question From Silly Goose"...but I just don't know.

So, I got my "Sanford & Son" 110 that needs a new blade, spring, etc, etc. But what if I don't want a steel upgrade and just want it fixed up?

Do you call Buck first to get a ticket number for the work?
Just send in the knife with a note?
Get an estimate on the phone and give 'em your credit card?
Send in the knife and they call you with an estimate?
Send CJ or Joe a blank check?

How's it work????

Inquiring Goose wants to know...

Goose,

Send me the blank check:D   :D...

You could do any of the above. What you do, and I have done, is box it up with a note stating what needs done, include telephone and address and that you want them call with a price for the work. Good luck, Preston

I was in a similar situation. I had a new 110 that I wanted to have re-bladed with BG-42, so I called the 800 number on Buck's web site(very nice people by the way). However, they must be very busy because they took a little while to call me back. After playing a little phone tag with them, another forum member suggested that I contact Mr. Joe Houser. Let me say that he has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, very helpful! So, I think that your best bet would be to contact him so that he can help you out.

I just mailed mine to them Sent 5 or 6 at one time with a short note about each, wrapped around that particular knife with a rubber band.

Three were repaired but not under warranty. They just invoiced me 10 bucks each for those. I then sent them a check.

when you label the box.... Put B.K. INC . instead of Buck knives.... Buck Knives is an invite for theft. I sent mine confirmed mail.

FWIW - anytime I have had to send something in, I give Joe Houser a head's up via email. Ask if he thinks there will be charge. If he thinks there may be, they can invoice you after, but, you will be amazed at what they cover under warranty.... I have never seen another company go as out of there way as Buck to make the customer happy
