How do you insert a link into a pic?

I want to insert a link for kniferights.org into the pic in my sig,so when you click on the pic it takes you to their site.

I don't want it just 'done' for me.I'd like to understand how to do it myself.I tried a bunch of different ways & it keeps coming back 'invalid file'.

Create an image and preview it.

Highlight the entire text of the image with image tags and click the 'link' URL icon.

Paste your 'click to' URL in the window.

Preview and check it. That's how I did my banner. Click this below:
