How do you like the F-16?

This is a great looking blade, and I'm very tempted to pick one up but I see a lot of the for sale. I'm looking for some honest feedback from Hogs that have actually used their F16. I know its not the most practical choice but it looks like it could be fun for delimbing some trees etc.

It made me giggle when I unboxed it! It's big and impressive but I have no idea what I'd actually use it for which is why I have it listed right now. Sort of like the Argonne Assault I sold a few years back, crazy impressive blade with no real use for me. An F-11 on the other hand...

Think heavy machete use. I like mine alot, although just in appearance. Haven't knocked the new off it yet. I like how it feels though.

sold mine, thought it was a little too front heavy which made it feel clunky to me

handle also felt a bit small, and just didnt work for ne

This all said, the thing was kind of badass.

just my 2cents on them
You feel exactly how I do. I love the profile and shape. I think if they made the handle thicker, and longer for counter balance it would have helped.

Definitely more of a chopping feel then slice.

It is weighted a little forward, so it isn't something that feels quick in the hand (like, say, the Waki, or the TNT-15... althought the TNT-15 is shorter, so it theoretically should feel quicker, right?).

It would be great at delimbing (anything. ). Also keen enough point to easily be a stabber. All that being said, I haven't knocked the new off mine either. But I also don't usually use one of my swords to go whacking at trees and saplings.

It happens to fit my hand GREAT... Especially with gloves on. For reference, Medium Mechanix gloves for me... Like a glove!
Definitely weighted a little more forward, but with the files, it's not VERY forward heavy... Definitely nothing compared to something like a Hog Nose War Sword... But definitely not as swift as a rucki, but not too too far away from the TNT..

The only "long" busse I have to compare it too is the ak-47. I wish the ak47 had a handle shorter like the f16, and I wish the f16 had a longer handle like the ak-47. Just because if the forward weight of the f16 I feel like it would do well with a 2 handed grip while slaying zombies.

Don't get me wrong, I love both, and the f16 does fit my 2xl hands just fine. Just wish I could get two hands on the handle comfortably or even a hand and a half. I Really do think that extra handle mass would completely change the feel of the blade for the better.

Couldn't agree more. I would love to get two full hands comfortably on the F-16... As it is right now, it's a nice heavy saber feel... Feel like if I had the tools to make an integral g-10 scale, I would make/retrofit one to the F-16 to extend the handle (and weight-balance) a bit.
(I have no machining tools :()

Thanks everyone for the input, this would be a big purchase for me. You have given me some things to think about....

Heck, even a brass bolster on the skull crushing end would do wonders for the balance

Crazy idea but what if you made some brass handle liners? Could thicken up the scales and add some weight?
I'm thinking at the end of the hilt a brass pummel kind of like a classic Bowie knife. Just to change the center of balance towards the handle.

These look awesome.

If you dont plan on using it, might want to check out the FMV14 as well. I wanted a Busse sword, but have no need, so went for collectability. I honestly think both will be worth a lot in years to come. Miss my gladius, Aks, and ruckis for that reason alone.
