How do you like the Svord Peasant folder?

It's a fantastic knife but too big to EDC. the handle is very comfortable and the adjustment screws let you keep it as tight or as loose as you want. What are you interested in it for? I bought mine because i love classic knife designs.

I'm interested in it for EDC, yard work, and probably some hiking. I'll probably order the leather sheath off of Ragweed Forge for it if its too big. It reminds me a lot of a Case RussLock.

It feels like it has a decently high Rc, unlike many simple carbon steel folders out there today. Mine came with a pretty thick edge bevel. It works well, and for the price I'm not afraid to get it dirty.

It will do just fine for yard work and hiking. I'd recommend wearing gloves when you use it for any extended work, the tang can poke you in the palm of your hand a bit.

i dont like them too much. they are priced good. but im not a big fan of the peasent. . friction folders aint my bag. but for the money. likes dont matter.

I like friction folders. You need a sheath to EDC them, though (I wouldn't trust one just loose in my pocket). The Svord is a good knife for the money. Most I've seen came really dull from the factory, so be prepared to do some serious sharpening.

The peasant is all about the steel. You get to try Svords steel in a budget form. I have a poly handled one , I like it a lot . Doesnt get much pocket time , but I would throw it in a backpack etc. The version jules posted is great too ! (the CKC hiker)

Svord steel and heat treating is the best!
The first knife i could ever sharpen to split hair was my Svord bird & trout.
I then sharpened my 7" hunter bowie to do the same.

P.S. They use Swedish steel

I EDC it... don't get the plastic handles. They feel really cheap. The wood ones are great. The blade profile is as close to perfect as any folder I've seen, and the L6 is a joy to sharpen. Also holds its razor edge very well. Keep it coated in oil or silicone, it will rust up on you FAST if you give it a reason to. There's one in my pocket right now as we speak, it's a great 'non-weapon' knife to carry on campus.

I got plastic handle one. Sure it feels bit cheap but man, the blade takes easily wicked edge, holds it well. It makes excellent back up blade for bushcraft job.

What model is this? Did you cut down a larger knife??
I LIKE IT:thumbup:

It's called the cKc Hiker, made by Kyley Harris. When he began making custom knives, he turned the blade from a Peasant into a fixed blade by using epoxy as filler between the handles.

He then had Svord make a bunch of blanks for him be made into full fixed blades. He no longer uses Svord blanks, except the few he might still have laying around.

I have the Peasant in wood and black poly. I think the the poly handle version is better, it opens and closes a lot easier than the wood version. The blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge a long time.
