Hey guys no doubt the topic has been asked, perhaps beat to death?
Just want to ask how you like your chisel grinds on your blades?
What do you find they are great at doing and do you find they are pretty
good as edc's?

I just picked up a CQC7-A with a conventional v-grind but am looking to
expand my Emerson collection a bit and have been looking at it's brother
the "B model."

I've been enjoying carrying my Emerson knives, the Mini Horseman
and of course the new one.

I like chisel grinds personally, they do behave a bit differently to a regular V grind but there really is little between them once you get used to it IMO.

chisel is great for me and I like sharpening one side its easier to do for me at least
and they seem sharper but thats my opinion

Go to Leu Knives and take a look. There is no secondary edge on a true CG.

For defense it doesn't matter, but for cutting anything else it is hard to make a straight cut with a chisel edge.

In the early days I owned the chisel edges, but have gone completely with the v-grind in recent years for the above reason.

This seems to be that standard retort when one is arguing against chisel grinds.

If you don't mind me asking ? What exactly is it that you were unable to cut straight and why did it matter ?

I have been using chisel grinds for a long time. I have used them out in the bush, about the house and for MA training during test
cuts etc. and have never had any problems like that with them at all. Infact, I often find them to perform better than a V grind.

+1 , i love chisel grind too, much easier to sharpen than a V grind if you learned it.

When I was new to cg knives, I noticed a tendency to cut things at an slight angle. However, I soon discovered there was a problem with my technique and have had no problems since.
