Are the custom 110 better than the plain ones.
Any other info on the custom 110 is appreciated.

Thanks!

Jeff

I positively love my custom 110. Then again, I have a hard time not loving a knife that I can get with a stag handle, heavy duty lock, BG-42 steel, partial serrations, and an engraved blade. It was a steal for the price. I have more expensive knives, but my PCKS Buck 110 is my favorite. It feels like I’m using a piece of history. There’s something natural…. or organic… or something about it.

And I may catch heck for saying this, but it cuts better than my Sebenza.

jefroman, Like Buzzbait I really like the 110 I got from Pete"s. While not the most
Hi-tech knife its is one of the most reliable knives on planet earth. What any 110
lacks in pizzaz it more than makes up for in value and utlity. Pete's Custom shoppe
just makes it so much better. Now I ask you, What other company can say that about
ANY of the knives they offer??

I think PCKS is one of the best projects in the knife industry. The best way to understand is to get one!

I've only had two knives made at PCKS.
They both needed to be reworked so I sent them back. The good news was Buck got them, fixed them
and sent them both back to me the same day.The first is a great knife both in form and function The other......well it looks unique but is the same
fit finish and quality as a regular buck. Most folks seem to have pretty good luck with them.PCKS is a really cool idea and its fun designing your own knife. I'll buy another one.

even if your knife is the same fit and finish as a regular buck , that is still saying a lot.

My Petes knife is the best knife I own. I ordered the AWB scales, NS bolsters, NR, BG-42 blade, and my initials on the bolster. I checked mine out from top to bottom when it arrived. It was absolutely flawless. The hardest part of ordering one of these knives is deciding which combo to get.(unless your Folsom, then you have to check and see what combo you dont already have) If you want to order one of these knives just pick your favorite and DO IT. You wont be dissapointed. Later, Alex

Hey HEY hey hey....

There's LOTS of ones I don't have! Red Bone & Grey Ionfusion is on my list, and the pictures of that FG Stag with brass bolster look great, When the smooth AWB comes, I think it would look great with brass, and who knows WHAT to do with Koa...

You're right, though, You can't be disappointed. I carry one every day, rotating around. Today it's Fiji Orangewood with the Champaigne Buckcote.

What is the heavy duty lock?

He means that the buck 110, being a lockback, will take a ton more abuse than a linerlock and such. And since it is a buck lockback, it'l take even more.

mschwoeb, Thank you for that explaination - I read it and thought that there was an optional extra heavy duty lock to be had on a special order basis.

I agree with you, the 110/112 lock is rugged. No lock is perfect, except for the full tang fixed blade except that thay are such a problem to re-open after being folded only once. :(

Yah. All I was doing was stating my confidence in the lockback systems of Buck knives. They are extremely dependable.

I’ve found other manufacturer’s lockbacks that I’ve liked the styles and features of more, but wasn’t confident enough in the lock to purchase them. I always know that I’m getting a good lockback mechanism with Buck, which makes all the difference. If I’m buying a folder for moderately hard use, the lock actually means more to me than the blade steel. I can resharpen steel, but I can’t grow a new finger.
