How do you make a Busse knife?

Over the past year and a half or so, I have read a lot of posts on bladeforums about missed delivery times.

The most recent "Enough and goodbye" got me thinking. After Flatlander and Jerry spoke on the phone, Flatlander posted that he now understood the delays in shipping and apologized for his post.

My questions are; What is the manufacturing process like? i.e. What are the various steps involved and what kind of problems has Busse experienced at each step in the process?

Obviously I'm not referring to proprietary information here, just a rundown on what goes into making a knife. Personally, I think it would be both interesting as well as educational in that it would give all of us who are unfamiliar with the process a better understanding and appreciation of what goes into producing these knives (as well as the kinds of problems encountered along the way).

For example:
Order stock
Shipping delayed due to strike
Receive stock
Return some due to defect
Cut blanks
Grind profile
X number messed up in grinding
Machine broke half way through process
Etc.

Obviously I don't know anything about making knives but you get the idea.

Recently, Mad Dog knives had a "virtual tour" of the shop which I found interesting and informative. While pictures are nice, a "blow by blow" verbal explanation would be interesting to me and probably others as well.

Whad'ya think?

Great idea! In fact, there are plans to do a virtual run down on our manufacturing process for our website. We'll include pictures, written descriptions, etc. . . .
Maybe we can post some previews on our forum if you're interested.
