How do you make SS handles look like new?

I've been using 3M Scotch Brite pads on my stainless steel handled Spyderco's (like my Police) to try & remove the light scratches but it just doesn't quite give the look like it came from the factory. I would be interested in hearing what other methods that you use on your SS handled knives to give them that factory new look again. TIA.

I don't know if this helps, but picked up a police and a standard in trade and used 600 wet dry sandpaper with some lemon oil to float out the steel. Then buffed out with a soft felt wheel and some rouge. Not quite new but now coin/key marks either. Good luck.
