How do you make your Emerson smoother?

Everyone has their own way of doing this. I generally just disassemble the whole knife and clean everything with CLP, mainly concentrating around the pivot area. Then I wipe it down until its dry, add my lube of choice and reassemble. That smooths the action out a lot. I may end up doing this 1 or two more times on the same knife for the first week or two but you will see a noticable difference after the first cleaning.

Mine break in after a few days of opening and closing while I'm watching t.v. They do come pretty stiff though.

Yesterday night/today this morning I decided to high polish my girlfriend's CQC-14. I took it all apart and light sanded the area of the pivot with 1200 sand paper and its wayyy smoother than before. Not easy to flick but a lot better than what it was. I didn't take any pics because my camera was acting up but I don't feel like taking it down to show what I'm talking about :o. Also I usually put a little bit more lube than needed but I like my knives being slick as buttah!

I polished the liners also using sandpaper. Put it all together after cleaning it up real good and put some lube on it. Feels just as smooth as my umnumzaan now.
