How do you mark medical gear cases?

I'm looking to buy a hard case (Pelican) for my medical gear. I have been looking for durable stickers or paint templates but, so far I only see the really cheap vinyl stickers that won't hold up to real use or sun exposure. Googling the 'net hasn't been any help with all the "noise" with bad web links.

What do the people around here use? I was thinking about some specialty paint that will stick to plastic but, where would I find the template? The alternative would be a durable sticker that won't peel off or fade out. Ideally, it would have the "Caduceus of Mercury" in addition to basic text.

TIA,
Sid

My first aid kit is in a bag, it has two 1" Fastex buckles on the front, so my markings for the bag, is simply a cross cut out of red reflective tape and stuck to the buckles.
Makes it obvious what's in the bag, and makes it easy to find at night too

Maybe 2x 3"x1" strips of reflective tape stuck to the front in a cross shape ?

I've go some pro kit and the symbol is somehow painted into the fabric. My home kit is a physicians kit from a plane. That's a briefcase type thing of about 50ltrs capacity. That has stickers on the side and a proper little metal plaque thing at the handle..................Clear nail varnish over stickers helps them hold up longer if they are stuck some something hard.

Big red + on a white field, Keep It Simple Stupid. The symbol is universally known and recognized.

Thanks! I was hoping to stay away from a military association. In some places I travel that is hazardous to your health, especially for an American! I don't want to repeat a rather bad experience in Europe with that association again. That's why I'm looking for a more physician related marking versus other options.

I have mine in a red bag type thing I found at a military surplus store. Not sure what brand or anything. I'd think something with a red + or a red bag itself would be sufficient.

Idk what the quality of the stickers are but vinyl will hold up to sun and anything else.

I work signs and pretty much every sign you've seen in the past 15 years has been made win vinyl.

There's different grades though, 3year, 5year, ect.

You oughta just pop into any local sign shop and see if they've cut any scrap red Lately and explain that you just wanted to little strips to make a medical cross.

Out of everything we make, there's always a lot of excess trash.

sounds to me like you need to make your own stencil, another option would be the blue emt w/ staph of asclepiues, or other varriation. interesting reading here:

Thanks! After some more searching, I found the following:

STAR OF LIFE REFLECTIVE

3M Scotchlite Reflective Graphic film
Indoor and outdoor use
3-5 yr (depending on use and climate/sun exposure)
7mil with 1.1mil UV laminate

EMT stickers were a lot easier to find so, I'm going to give them a try and see what TSA has to say next time I run the airport gauntlet. Hopefully, the adhesive won't allow the decal to peel off easily.

You could put a piece of clear lamination plastic over it, slightly larger with rounded corners. It can be bought in various sheet sizes and thicknesses.

another thing is to clean the box good before you apply the decals. Most boxes are molded and thus have some residual mold release agent on the surface of the plastic box. Dish soap is pretty effective followed by a good rub down with an alcohol pad to deal with any leftovers.

Absolutely, soap will keep your vinyl from sticking, be positive it gets a good alcohol rub down after
