How do you remove the finish on a CRKT Marzitelli Prowler

I picked up a new old stock CRKT Marzitelli Prowler for my dayhiking kit. The one big catch is that the blade is black coated making it difficult to work with in low light. What is the coating and how do I remove it? The blade is AUS-6M, so corrosion isn't a major concern.
