Do ytou prefer hand stitching, sticthing with a stitching awl, or machine? Just trying to get opinions on what you think works best for you.

I hand stitch all my work. But I sure do wish I had the right machine for the job, I would use it.

I have hand stitched, used the "Awl for All", and for the last 6 or 7 years I've used Artisan sewing machines. The machines are by far my preference. Prices on Stitchers and flat bed machines have dropped dramatically since I bought my two machines. If you have any thing like a decent order back log the machines will pay for themselves very quickly. They will allow you to step up your production, and give you the ability to do more intricate inlay work without the tedious hand stitching.

I never find myself disagreeing with Paul. If my Artisan were flesh and blood I would propose marraige. She (?) has made life much easier for me. The only time I hand stitch anymore is when I cannot reach the stitch line with my machine. ---Sandy
