I use spyderco profiles, sharpmaker rods, DMT diafolds, lapping film or sandpaper on a surface with a curved edge, oval diamond rods, convex bevels for some and if all that fails me I have a belt sander.
In truth sharpening a recurve is not easy, following the curve the right way takes some time to learn.
