How do you sharpen recurves?

So how do you guys sharpen recurve blades? Does it depend on how big the curve is? For example, is there any difference between sharpening a bm 710 or a kershaw speed bump?

For awhile (before I lost it) I used a simple and cheap kyocera ceramic crock stick (not a true crock stick but it was small and ceramic)

Got a good edge, I'd recommend the sharpmaker now as it'll sharpen pretty much any pocket knife, and other larger knives too.

I sharpen recurves with my 1X30" belt sander, the belt will curve and bend to accommodate the recurve on most blades. A cheap method you could try is wrapping sand paper around wood dowels, or using a narrower strip of sandpaper on a mousepad/leather for convex edges.

I use Spyderco Profile rods for touch-ups and the wet/dry/crocus cloth around a thick wood dowel most of the time for recurves.

+1 on the Sharpmaker, I can sharpen everything I have from a very small SAK to my Large Bowies.
