I have this old collins machete that was my dads from way back. Well over the years, the handles have cracked a little. theyre not bad but, id like to keep them from cracking anymore. Are there any glues, or composites, i could either soak this handle in, or spray on over em, to stabilze the wood?
I often see 'impregnated' wood on some riflestocks, and some knife handles, and wonder what and how they do this process. Could I get mine done? Id take them off, fix em up, then find some good rivets or whatever to get them back onto the blade. Anyone have any ideas? or custom knive makers I could ask?

You can use CA glue to fill the cracks. Find it at Lowes or Home Depot. Then sand handles and put a sealer on them.

I believe to really do it right they use resin at pressure. Might send this over to the makers forum and ask them. I am sure they have better answers than I.
