I had this old machinist box that I bought to store gun parts. I was looking at not to long ago and thought how cool it would be to
store knives in!! So here I go on my latest addiction! How do some of you store display your knives?

I use to display them on my shelf until there was an earthquake earlier this year that made me realize... probably not a very good idea. So now they sit in a Pelican case.

I have a three level Gershner machinist's chest like the OP:

It is proudly displayed in our living room and is a pretty good match for the rest of the decor in that section:

I have folders in kniferolls, and throw those in a little cabinet, with my fixed blades. A lot of them are on my desk, however.

I don't display mine, I had some pistols on display and lost those to a thief long ago. I use those fishing lure boxes made by Plano and/or Flambeau. You can configure the partitions for a pretty good fit, they're stackable and the see through nature of the design makes it easy for me to pick out the knife I want to carry that day. They also cost about 7-9 bucks a piece!

PS-RagE that is the Bomb!!! You have great taste that allows you to put a knife display in the living room and make it look so good!!!

Thanks. I was pretty amazed when my wife signed off on the concept and jumped on it right away!

I bought and customized this display cabinet to showcase my Spyderco Mules and other projects. I added internal LED strip lighting to the basic cabinet I purchased from the builder.

Wow!!! phillipsted that looks Great! Very creative the leds add a lot to the display. I would not have thought that Spydercos would have looked that
good in a traditional wood display case but they do!

Locked in toolchests and cabinets, which are in a locked room, which are in a remote part of the house. ;)

I really need some sort of storage more suitable for large folders and fixed blades. Problem is how to fit the boxes, sheathes, and other accessories. Most drawer systems are too shallow and too small.
How would you store a hundred or more fixed blades, everything from bird and trout hunting knives to large BK9 Becker survival knives?

I keep mine in a large wooden trunk. I use Maxpedition Dodecopods for folders and Maxpedition razor shells for the fixed blades. I've had the tip of the blade push through on cheaper pouches. I admire the beautiful displays in the previous posts.

I drool every time i see those Gerstner chests!
I store my vintage/sentimental knives in an antique chest my grandmother gave me, which was a gift from her father in 1937. She had it restored, lined with felt, and sectioned specifically for knife storage and display.
All my other folders and fixed blades are scattered throughout my house...in drawers, Maxped packs, knife rolls, etc..

Simioh I like cigar boxes as well and I like Cyclfreaks idea with the fishing tackle boxes. I think I am going to look for some vintage tackle boxes for my
traditional folders.

I have knife cases from amazon. Reasonably cheap and zippers shut like a soft briefcase. Eventually I'd love some really nice storage like the pics above but I'm young so that will come in time.

I just keep them in their boxes if they're not being used, but the ones I do used are set out on top of a drawer. As my collection grows, I'll probably end up getting a pelican case.
