How do you store your completed knives?

It's getting to be a problem. I fold kydex for each one, so the blades are protected, but still...
2-3 will be in the knife block, but that's full.
half a dozen belt knives...
Some will be sent out temporarily or permanently soon, but I'm not selling, so the outflow doesn't keep up with production AND I like to keep at least one of each type... Ooh, but that second one is even nicer... can't part with the FIRST of course. Ugh.

How do you store yours?
Pictures if it helps. :-)

I'd post a picture, but they're basically in a pile in a pleather box and it's a bit embarassing. Or there are too many laid out on my desk... Help!

*LOL*
It would be quite a commute to fondle them occasionally, but I know someone out there who could do it by proxy.

Most of mine go in a hard pistol case. I throw in a few of those desiccant packets to keep things from rusting. Really nice knives go in individual knife zipper cases.

I save the little desiccant packages that come in just about everything these days. You can put them on a cookie sheet in the oven for a few minutes at 200 to make sure they are dry before putting them in the case with your knives.

But I've run out of storage for pistol cases too! :-)
Actually if they were full of knives I'd just stack 'em somewhere convenient, unlike cases full of pistols which require more thought.

For dessicant I use the silica crystal kitty litter which is sold in 10lb plastic jugs. It's dust-free and WAY cheaper than the stuff sold as dessicant. Works great, requires containment.

I use a toolbox with slide out drawers. Started with a 2 drawer and now have a 6 drawer as well. Lockable too. But only going to stop the opportunist thief.

With a light coat of machine oil or mineral oil (preferred because it's food-safe) on any metal components, then wrapped in saran wrap, in the sheath. Unstabilized woods/leather may benefit from a little of whatever oil they were finshed/sealed with, also wrapped. At that point, any tool-box, cupboard or whatever you like will suffice; the knife itself is fully protected.

The idea of knives and sheaths falling apart or wasting away to uselessness from being stored is greatly exaggerated. A little common sense goes a long way.

For those of you using the little packets to absorb moisture, you can check out my video on "the way I used to store knives" on YouTube under sevenedges knives. There you will see two large moisture absorbers in the case. Three hours. At 300 degrees and are guaranteed for life.

Most all of mine are stored in my head and heart, in that they have not been manifested yet. Other than that I have a funky little chest of drawers I enjoy stashing stuff in. Knives are either oiled and/or waxed or rusted (I mean patina·ed).

Most of my work in progress (such as it is) is in other drawers at my benches.
