How do you strip the knives without removing the branding and model number?

I really want to strip my 9 for superior cutting and better look, but since mine isn't roll-stamped, how can I keep all the logos on the blade whilst still removing the coating?

go to radio shack and pick up some pcb etchant. You can do a search for it here for more detail, but basically you let the laser etched logos soak in it a while, then when you strip it, they stay.

Here are a few pics of laser etching after chemical stripper with nothing done to enhance the etching. Still shows up pretty well.

You can strip it right away,no need for etching. But if you want deeper logo it will be easy to etch it with some etching solution.

I'd suggest electo-etching, it's easy and works. Here's the thread where I found out about it. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1091629-Getting-the-laser-etched-logos-deeper-into-the-steel
There's also a lot of videos on youtube that walk you through the process. Just search "DIY knife etching"

The factory laser etchings will still show but aren't very deep, so if you sand or polish the blade much they will fade out.
I first time I tried it, I used a phone charger that was entirely too weak, it didn't really deepen the etch much.
I've switched to using a 9volt battery to etch with and it gives really good results.
Below, is my first handmade knife which I etched using laserprint stensils.
