How do you take a Tinives knife apart?

I just received my 1st Tinives knife today. I would like to take it apart and clean and oil it but I can't get the screw out of the pivot. I am not sure how to hold the back side of the pivot still while I turn the screw. Is there a special tool or a trick that I just don't know about? I don't want to scratch up a new knife.

It probably is loctited in there. The way I do it is heat the pivot screw with a wood burner tip. I bought a simple wood burner that you can pick up at a Hobby Lobby or perhaps Wal-Mart too. Put a tip in it as most come with an assortment. Put one in that fits inside the hex or torx head recess and then plug it in and when it heats up good hold it on the head for about 30 to 45 seconds and try to turn it right after you place the heat wand back in its stand. Stick the wrench in there and give it a good snap twist back to the left and see if it doesn't start moving.

I took one apart not long ago. I didn't need heat or a special tool. Maybe yours is just a bit stubborn. Try the heat and keep working it. It should come out.

Thanks Diggerdog. I really like this little knife. I think it is just a pocket clip away from being a favorite.
