I am trying to take apart my Benchmade Axis to do some polishing, but I am having problem taking apart the axis switch. I can go as far as taking out the omega spring, but I am stuck after that. Help.

I can't do more than that on my 710, however 940 is different, the liners come apart.

Which model are you attempting to disassemble?

If it's the 710/720/730/705, you can made a "V" shape out of about 3/4" straightened paper clip (the thicker ones) and bend in the ends of the "V" to fit into the holes. Then simply fashion something to hold the tool tightly in place while you turn each side. I used a small socket that slipped over the whole works and held it securely so that it could be turned while securing the other stud in my vice after wrapping it with electrical tape to prevent marring. If at all possible, don't disassemble it as your chances of boogering-up some parts are significant. Wait, did I say this out loud?

Someone else (can't remember who) actually suggested this here at one point, and I gave it a try. It works like a chaaaaaaaaaam.
