Thats a great question, let me know when you figure it out.
I guess you could always let them inspect and fondle that fine work of art to help them understsnd, but, you can't seem to remove it from your grubby mitts long enough to let anybody look at it can you :D

It looks great with the silver studs, I'm going to finish taking the blue off of mine soon.

It's funny cuz you want to lend someone your knife to use but, ah, not really. If they drop it, well......

right Bro? lol

I tell them to buy one and see for themselves, 'cause they aint touching mine.

Remember the only people who understand why you would spend $400+ on a knife that you would carry are the ones who already have.

Just got my first, I doubt it'll be my last... :)

If they know about CRK its self explanatory.
I just them I'm carrying a BG-42 Regular:p

I've let a few guys at work hold my Sebenzas, and they're like, "wtf is this thing!?" They hold it (closed of course) with a look on their face like they've never seen something like it ever!

The look people's faces is priceless when you hand over a CRK, you get all kind of responses. I gave a guy at work my Umnum to cut some bread up he was having for lunch, he spent his entire break fondling the Zaan, seriously had a hard time getting it back. Needless to say we have one more fan of CRK in the world now.

I don't even try. Rather, I consider it my little secret. When I was a Scoutmaster my kids knew I was a paratrooper and marvelled at how "plain" my knife was for an ex-soldier. Even the supposed "knife guy" dads had no idea.

I have never let anyone borrow my sebenza. If someone around me needs to borrow a knife, I give them a back up if I have one (usually one of my Leathermen Micras), otherwise I ask what they need it for (you'd be shocked how often it's to tighten a screw) and offer to do the cutting if appropriate.

^ I've been in that very situation often. If I know the guy or not I'll always ask what the use is for first, then, like you, usually pass my leatherman to them.

It's rare to come across people who appreciate the full spectrum of knives. Unless its obvious they're into knives, I don't go into price or anything. Many people can't fathom a knife over $50 or so. They think its stupid. Heck, I've had people ask me why I have a knife at all.

If you show a person a Sebie and a SAK (for example) and then point out the differences....
I only do that when I'm in the mood.

I would ask them if they would prefer a Lamborghini or a bicycle. Both will transport you, but one is far more enjoyable to own.

She says that they all look the same so i don't know what i'm going to say to justify buying a 25 :D
