How does a larger Cricket sound ?

After adding comments on another thread here ( ATS-55), it hit me that the Cricket would make a great knife in a larger size too(nightmare of the expanding SKUs, I know, sorry Sal). Now, I'm not advocating a MegaCricket (sorry Jim), but rather a size between an Endura and a Delica. Imagine what that blade style could do in that size range.
Keep the Ats-55 and the Zytel handle to keep cost down, it'll still be a neat cutter. What do you think ?

Very noisy! Sorry Brian, couldn' t help it. Ahhhh... time to get some shuteye.

Wouldn't the Civilian be classified as a larger Cricket? sure looks similar in blade shapes.

Brian,

Gary has a point. Spyderco is possibly going to offer a forum exclusive Matriarch, essentially a 98 Endura with a proportional Civilian(Cricket-esque) blade of ATS-55.
Sounds pretty much like what you're describing.
I suggest you check out the Matriarch thread, if you haven't already. Some very cool stuff.

Well, I did look at the matriarch thread, but don't see any description of blade shape except for the Civilian reference. The Civilian is not a larger version of the Cricket shape, the Cricket is almost a mini-kukri shape, the Civilian does not share that reverse curve aspect. Now, as I said earlier, I have not seen the other model in pictures and so am not sure what it's blade looks like, but as far as I can tell, both of them have a half-moon sort of curve, yes? Now look again at the Cricket, it's got the kukri double curve. That's what I'd like to see in a larger size.

Brian,

I suppose it's just a perception issue.

I've looked at both the lightweight Cricket and my Civilian side by side, and overall size aside, the main difference 'I' can see is that the forward portruding tip extends further up and forward on the Civilian.

No matter how I look at them both, I can't help but see that both blades share the reverse 's' curve. It's almost more pronounced in the Civilian, IMHO.
