How does a name change affect post count, etc.?

Hiya. I'm contemplating a user name change. How does that affect all my previous posts, my post count, friendship status etc.? It's not a huge deal, just one I'm thinking about. Thanks.

it won't. all of your stats will stay the same. if someone quoted you in a post it will still show benchmadeboy but other than that everything will be good to go.

The only way you could lose your old data would be to abandon an account and start a new username. crossafda is right. As long as you change through the system, you are still the same person to us, despite the new label.
