It comes on some Spartan Blades kydex sheaths (or can be purchased separately).

I have no idea what this even does. What purpose does it serve? This is a serious question by the way; I've never worn anything like this before, and I simply can't picture how that belt loop is supposed to fit.

The sheath slides inside your waistband and the loop go's around your belt holding the sheath down as you draw out your blade.

^What they said.

It doesn't necessarily need to be worn IWB either. Since it pivots on a single point, you can orient it whichever way you choose. Loosen the screw and pivot it up and you've got a vertical carry sheath.

You could also wear that sheath in a cross draw fashion. The way those sheath are orientated in the pic they could be worn on the right hip, and drawn with the left hand.

Ohh, it's to keep the sheath held down while you draw the blade. That makes sense now. Thanks, y'all!

So the part that we're looking at on the picture, is the side that is facing (read: pressed against) your body? Since the loop is on the reverse side.

Correct, the belt loop just needs to be rotated down and it would be ready for IWB carry.
