How does copper alox wear?

I have a copper farmer and a blue farmer coming in the mail right now and I'm trying to decide which one to carry and which to keep pristine. I've seen some pics of worn blue alox and really like the looks of it, but I've yet to see any of copper alox. Does the copper anodizing wear as well as red or black? Any pictures would be much appreciated.

They look better with a little wear on them in my opinion.

If you really want to keep them new looking it is surprisingly easy to stitch a piece of scrap leather into a fitted pocket sleeve for your knife. I am not very crafty at stuff like that and I have made several with great results. Has kept my Victorinox knives looking nearly new despite being in a pocket with car keys on a daily basis.

Leather is a SAK's best friend!

I made up small leather pouch sheaths for all the family SAK's on keychains, and after a few years of constant carry, they all still look almost new. And those are cellidor being bashed around on keychains to boot. It would do the same for the colored alox as well. Just make sure to build the sheath/pouch deep enough to swallow the whole knife right up to the keyring, and use the keyring as a pull tab to get the knife out. With the SAK in a pocket sheath, you could carry keys, change, nuts and bolts, anything in that pocket and the SAK won't be affected. Leather is tough material and will provide some cushioning for the SAK.

If I was to spend that much money on a Alox model, I'd keep it in a pouch. Victorinox makes nice pouches giving you multiple choices to choose from. I really like the Cordura sheath (VN33214), it has a low profile that doesn't stick out when you wear it on your belt.

I carry my Pioneer's and Farmer's in GEC's pocket slips...easy, peasy
