How does CQC7-A rate as daily carry?

Hello.
First time on the Emerson Forum.
How does anyone here rate this spear-point version as a daily-use? I notice it is double-ground, but the edge itself is one-sided? Is that made for easier resharpening, or is it trickier?

Also, how does the black coating on the Emerson line hold up? Say, compared to Benchmade's BT2 coating?

IMO, of all the Emerson line, I like the CQC7-A, it just has a classic look to it for me.

Finally, how do the titanium liner locks on these knives hold up over time?

Thanks for any replies!

Personally I like the CQC7 series. My only wish is that they would come out with a model the same size as the Boker Brend.

The 'C7 makes a great daily carry. Personally, I like the ergos of the handle, and the liner lock on mine has held up like a tank. It still is not past halfway, and I've had it for going on 3 years now. Mine is bead blasted, and still looks great. I imagine that although the black teflon may get scraped if you use it enough, minimal care should keep it looking good for quite a while. In my mind, the C7 embodies the "classical tactical folder" and it probably always will. It's the one that got me hooked on knives, and remains a personal favorite.

I tried to resist over a year now, but I'm really wanting an Emerson Knives CQC7-A now.
I think I will try to get a black ti coated model, but if I can't, I'll settle for the bead-blasted one. I suppose even if the coating scratches, it should have penetrated the pores of the steel to sufficiently continue to protect it.

Like I said, I really do like the looks and feel of the CQC7-A.

I have had a CQC7-A for about two years now and it has held up wonderfully. I have used it on multitudinous tasks and it keeps on coming. Mine is the bead blasted finish and about once a week I wipe it off with a Sentry Solutions tuff cloth. I have carried it at work and in all kinds of places . If you buy one you will not be disapointed

Royo is right. If you go with the bead blasted, get a Tuf-Cloth (I'd go marine tuf-cloth) and keep it wiped down about once a week. If you do that you will never see any rust.
