I really like the Fallkniven H1 (Hunter). I don't know much about these knives and am wondering how they compare to other knives...like Benchmade, Swamp Rat, etc...

Does anyone know much about these? From what I've read so far, it seems that the owners are satisfied.

Thanks ;)

Just got an S-1. Fit and finish are excellent and of course materials are too. I'm very impressed with VG10 laminate and got the knife after using Shun kitchen knives for a year..Thermorun is a good gripping surface and not as soft as Kraton.....For the better handle and blade shape I would get the F-1 rather than the H-1.

Fallkniven knives are some of the best knives on the market for the price.
I have the H1 as well as about a dozen other models so you can see that I like them.
The H1 is extremly sharp and has a puukko style handle without a finger guard and it comes with a piece of paper saying that this model is designed for use by EXPERIENCED knife users only since it takes some getting used to if you have never worked with the puukko style knife before.

The Fallkniven line is one you can trust your life on when you need a knife!

I have an S1 and F1. I am not that knowledgable regarding knives but they are both beaufifully done. Design is very practical also. The tangs on both extend a bit beyond the handle material if you need to pound with the end or pound it. The F1 in particular was designed as a survival knife. Both blades are very hefty and ground flat (not narrowly) which maintains the thickness as it moves toward the point.

On par with Benchmade's American-made offerings.
I think my Fallkniven F1 is way beyond the quality of any of the Benchmade blue and black class fixed blades I've owned and that is really saying a lot about the F1 because my BM blue and black class fixed blades were all nice knives in their own rights. Just my opinion of course. :)

in my opinion ,FALLKNIVEN Knives(straight) are design for tough use such as camping & hunting, working in nature environment .
while benchmade are disign used for soft use ,ordinary activities, artifical condition .

Fallkniven knives are first class quality. They are a bit pricey, but their quality is without question.

I have a WM1 and F1. They are beautiful, practical, durable and the convex grind blades are extremely sharp! The F1 is the official survive knife of the Swedish Air Force - and the WM1 looks like a downscaled F1 (it is my #1 neck nife). I love both (and I want an A1, too). ;)

Fallkniven's knives are custom quality knives, the blades fit into the guard with prescision, no gaps, handles are fitted perfectly. The overall fit and finish is flawless. The designs are old school but I like that. They use clad VG-10 for most of the blades, a couple of the folder use a powdered steel. Everyone I have seen was nasty sharp out of the box.

Well I just got an F1 yesterday and it is outstanding. Quality, fit and finish are first rate and I am very happy with it so far. I haven't used it yet, but I know it is going to perform well.
