Not trying to throw any sand in the gear box but...I was wondering if there has been any comparison studies between INFI and Krell metal. I've seen some pretty convincing testing of the Krell metal using a power blaster and the results of INFI against the Browning 50 cal. but no real comparison testing.
Anybody in the know?

I think the question around here would be "How does Krell stack up". ;)

I do know that Jerry has an open invitation to any and all knifemakers to publicly test their products against infi at any show Busse is at. I don't recall any takers so far.

 Huh? ...I think that I'll go with something that exists outside of um...Hollywood. ;)

INFI for the win.

IIRC, Jerry had considered using Krell Metal for the handles on the Gen III Busse Folder. So, it must be some pretty tought stuff. It's extremely light for a metal, but can handle impact far better than titanium or aluminum. I think using it for a blade would not work because it doesn't harden past 55 HRC much like titanium. I could be wrong though.

Krell metal is only dense on the molecular level. INFI is nuclear tough.

(I hate it when people mistakenly say that steel has a molecular structure.)

We tried to use Krell metal once, but the heat treatment was bizarre at best. First you boil it and then refrigerate it for 12 hours!. . . Very similar to Jello!!!!

We plan on trying it again in the near future as they have recently announced that there will be a microwaveable grade coming out on December 13th, 2012.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but Krell was one of my favorite movies as a kid!! Loved the cyclops fellow....gentle giant! :D;)

I've always been a fan of Rearden Metal myself. The cool blue color is just an added benefit to the strengths.

I plan on still being here.
Can I raid the
Busse Storeroom and snatch up all the JWB
and Coors Light?
I'll need something to help me live with myself.
Please leave the key under the mat.

INFI stacks up AND defies gravity. Can Krull do that?

Well, well, well, thank you for all the excellent feed back, especially from the Boss man him self. There is iron in his words. In life's struggle of good over evil I am always on the side of good and with INFI as my chosen tool I feel well armed and ready for any task that may be bestowed upon me.
