how does Mr. P come up with these ideas.
does his inspiration come from WWII CQC weapons from the OSS or traditional martial art weapons that he makes applicable to modern day life.

its not that i dont like JSP products but i am curious as to where the inspiration comes from.

thanks for answering the question.

Memnoch, I too have a great deal of admiration for Mr. Piorek's ingenuity. I have searched for alternate products with JSP Bladerigger's level of innovation and could not find anything close in all the products he has to offer. I don't think anyone would describe his products as inexpensive but I can see what where the money of a prospective buyer is going into. Sure, with enough know how and metal shop skill, one could produce items like this for far less money (cept' when you figure in the cost of fabrication equipment), but it would merely be an imitation/reasonable facsimile of his original idea. Keep up the good work JSP!

Give James a call. He's always happy to talk about his products and their inspirations.

I too am impressed by the designs!!

I wonder where the names come from and what they mean? Are they in Chinese or Japanese? Are the "Jashido", "Wang Bo", "Ban Bog", named after historic weapons, or are they just exotic-sounding combinations of syllables?

I don't know about the rest, but the ban bong is a traditional Korean weapon, belonging to the martial art of Hapikido (a traditional grappling style that emphasizes joint locks). They are usually made of wood, and the JSP version is superior to the traditional weapon in every way.

That's interesting, I thought Hapkido was a synthesis of various hand and foot fighting styles of Korea and Japanese Aikido/JuJutsu, formulated after the Korean War.
