The thread about the differences between the bussekin knives reminded me that I've been wondering: How does SR-101 compare to INFI as far as edge retention, stain resistence, and overall strength and toughness?

I'm currious as I have never used a Busse knife so I hve no idea what its properties are like. I do own two Swamprats and love them.

One of my SR's is the Rodent Waki which I believe is differentially heat treated, I'm also wondering how much the diff treat makes a difference when being compared to say, the Busse AK-47, or even other through treated Swamps?

you won't notice much difference in toughness or edge retention. As a matter of fact some say SR101 (52-100) has better edge retention than INFI. You will notice a difference with stain resistance, INFI is highly stain resistant for a carbon steel whereas SR101 will rust fairly easily.

oooh, cool I gots me some readin to do! :D

Thanks for the link! I'm not very computer savvy at all, and every time I try to use the search thing all I ever get is a bunch of random stuff that has nothing to do with what I'm searching for! :o

That's cool, I don't mind helping...

I hope not, I always shudder when I think about a perfectly good knife destroyed simply for the sake of destroying it.
