How does the 0770 compare to the 0777?

I've been enjoying the pass around 0777 and I don't have the money to buy my own and I really love the design. There really aren't any differences between the 0777 and the 0770 that are deal breakers the only concern I have is the size. If anyone who has both could let me know how much of a size difference there is or better yet post pictures.

Well...just by looking up specs the 770 has an approx. 1/2" shorter blade and 3/4" shorter handle.

If you don't want to deviate from the size of the 777 the 770 might not be for you as that's a pretty big difference all around. If the size difference doesn't bother you and you know you can get your hand on a 4.3" handle then I'd go for it.

I would say a 4.3" handle would be fine for my hand I just wish I could handle a 0770 before I put out $144. I do have a gun show in my area this weekend hopefully someone will have one.

Aside from the obvious differences in every regard listed in the respective specs on each knife, I'd say they really don't. The 0770 is the user and the 0777 is the collector piece. It would be for me at least.

Rev summed it up well, there's the obvious specs differences, for me the size would not be a big deal because there's still enough handle there, I really dislike sub 3.5" blade folders that reduce the handle size too much. It's a nice design, I'm not big on smooth metal handles, so I'd rather see some G10, but it's hard to argue about an elmax blade in an ergonomic package for under $150.

The triple seven does not compare much to the 770 in my book, besides he similar looks and blade shape. I just prefer the materials and overall design along with action of the triple seven.

I have 0770 only, and I must say I was slightly disappointed when I have got it in mail. It's still a very nice knife, but my expectations for how it would feel and look were probably too high: the knife feels somewhat smallish and the blade sort of thinner than I expected - more like Kershaw Chinese knives (don't want to diminish any of them, I have got a few myself that I really enjoy). It could be my own problem for I am not particularly good at checking the specifications of the knives I like before making the decision about buying them...
Anyway, I think if you buy 0770 as a substitute for 0777 you may be a bit disenchanted, though the knife itself is a good value and does not deserve that! It simply has no chance to live up to such an expectation! I think Kershaw has consciously made it of different size to avoid the direct comparison: but it's a tough task given that very specific handle and blade shape!

I think others have said it well, so I will keep this short. I have the 0777 and bought/sold a 0770 and it really just doesn't compare. The lines and shapes are similar but that's about it. Maybe the CF version of the 0770 will feel a little more like the 0777 but, it's still probably going to pale in comparison.
