How does the large 21 carry?

I have a small 21 and I really like it. I use it at the office and it disappears in my blue jeans. The small fits my hand pretty well even though I have HUGE hands. The knife I was carrying before I carried the small 21 was a 710. It weighs about the same as the large 21 but I'm thinking that although the large 21 is going to be the same weight will it carry better because it is slimmer than the 710. The 710 was really pocket-able for a large knife but I got a Delica in and it made me realize I didn't want to carry the 710 daily.
 
It carries like a 21 :)
I use a pocket sheath and even with it in the sheath, it gets lost in the pocket. I typically carry my small in the front shirt pocket, which is perfect. The large is not bulky at all. But, don't take my word for it, get yourself a large and you'll understand what I'm saying
 
Very nicely. I'm used to beefier folders anyway, so a large is nice and slim, and a small feels like a lighter :) love them both.
 
Only you can answer this. Everyone that carries one will likely tell you that they carry well. There may be a handful of people that don't think they carry well, but I'd suggest that if you were good with a Delica, you'll be ok with the Large. The large is narrower, but a bit heavier unless you carried the G-10 model like I did.

I know you're right. CRK's are just an expensive item to try. lol What sold me on the Delica was the fact that I also couldn't feel it in my pocket. I'm just wondering if the larges weight would bother me with it being so slim.
 
I doubt it, but which Delica did you carry? I'd tell you that the G-10 model is about the same weight as my large.

Now that I look more closely, the large will extend deeper into the pocket, but I swear it takes up less room (because of the slimmer profile). Also now that I handle them together, the large is heavier, but the weight has never bothered me a bit. View attachment 469267View attachment 469268

Oh sorry! I meant to answer this. It was an FFG version.
 
It's slightly larger than the small, I carry large and small on different days, jeans I carry large and slacks I'll carry small.

Both are very light for their size.
 
I think the large 21 carries just fine. In fact, I was wondering the other day why the CRK pocket clip doesn't receive heaps of praise. I think it is the best pocket clip I have ever used. And the pocket clip can make or break a knife for me. The CRK clip slips on and off a pair of jeans like second nature. I think that is why the 21 is finding it's way into my pocket more than any other knife.
 
I completely agree. The crk clip is by far the best I have. Some other knives make you work to insert or remove the knife. Crks slip either way perfectly with no effort.
 
Weight is not so much an issue with the large 21, unless maybe your are clipping it to slacks. The 25 and the Umnum are weighty knives due to the thicker blade stock, but even those carry pretty well. One of many reasons I bought my first CRK was I always felt the thumb-hole opener hump on the Spydercos I had extended too far into my pocket and made fishing for keys and change hard. The Large 21 is a big knife, but clipped to jeans it is manageable in size, and you can reach past it without catching on anything. Weight is not an issue with jeans at least.
 
I use the in pocket sheath with my large and I love how it almost disappears in the pocket. I say almost because sometimes it does sit in your pocket in a way that makes it obvious that there is something in there. I always touch my knife in my pocket anyways, so repositioning it is never an issue. Haha...

I have larger hands too. I much prefer the large over the small. I have some smalls that I will not part with and if a certain one became available, I may jump on it, but for me, its large all the way. Sometimes I carry them clipped to right front pocket, other times I have them in the leather slip sheath. I am just EXTRA SUPER Cautions now since I lost one of my large 21's. I am constantly doing the pocket check routine.
 
I have mine in my pocket now, as always, and if I didn't know it was there I wouldn't know it was there.

CRK's are nice and thin, they carry great. Couple that with the best clip in the industry and I'm certain you'll be happy with it.

Lost a large 21!? Uhg I'd be sick for weeks. When I set mine down and it slides, or I switch pockets, and I reach for it and it's not there , my heart drops . Luckily, I haven't lost it yet.

I did however "lose" a benchmade 67 years ago, and have been terrified ever since of a repeat .
