How does the "Wave" on a Commander speed the opening process?

It's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

If you look at the position of the Wave when the knife is closed and in the tip up position. You will see that it too is in the up position. When the knife is clipped to inside your right front pocket, the Wave rests against the seam of your pants. As you daw the knife from your pocket, the wave rides up the seam and catches at the top of your pocket. It holds the blade in place as you continue to draw the knife forcing the blade into the open position.

The "wave" works equally well for left-handled use. Mine is a right-biased configuration which I carry daily in my left front pocket.

The "wave" snaps the blade open equally well. It will deploy the blade ready for use as fast or faster than most auto models on the market.

I find it easier to open than an auto. With an auto you have to pull it out and I fumble with the button. The Commander opens while you pull it out.

I can't resist.

Put your hand in the air and move it back and forth.

Blade,
How does the right handed Commander work in the left front pocket? You you bring it out along the front edge of the pocket instead of the back seam?

Good one Dogman.
Now WAVE bye-bye to the nice topic.

If you bring it up along the front seam of your left pocket, it pops into your hand reverse grip. Excellent way to draw the knife.

Gester;
I carry the Commander inside the left front pocket with the tip facing out, wave in down position.

When I deploy the blade, the wave hooks to lower seam of the pocket and snaps open.

Then the fun begins

I can consitantly beat any auto knife in opening from a "pocket draw", so I really like it.

I'm a lefty too, so it rides in my left pocket, opening into a reverse grip. It really makes a loud SNAP!!! on opening too, something I like for the psychological effect...

I'm a lefty too. I'll try to find a Commander and give it a try.
Thanks,

Being right handed, I never really thought about drawing the Commander that way. I may have to get a "Lefty" when they come out so I can get a reverse grip draw.

Spark;
Thanks for the tip! Guess I'm set in my lefty ways but I never thought to try the
foreward pocket draw into a reverse grip.
I've always deployed the blade back and down on LH draw but after a few practice tries I've now got the reverse grip down pat!
