How durable are the CG finishes and other questions

New member, longtime lurker!

I bit the bullet today and ordered a large Moon Song, my first Sebenza.

I have had a MT LCC as an EDC for 6 years but given a replacement isn't easy to come by, I am going to retire her for what I hope is a more than adequate replacement, the Sebby.

The knife is going to be an EDC in jeans pockets for a LONG time and will get knocked around so I am curious how durable is the engraved graphic? I don't mind scratches but is it so fine that the wavy lines will look like the bent fins of a radiator grill if some coins rub them the wrong way or will it just slowly gain "character" over time, like a worn coin?

Also, does anyone have any pics of swedges on their blades? Am curious about this as the LCC sort of had a swedge and I like that profile, but I can't find any Sebby swedge pics anywhere.

Thirdly, anyone willing to provide words of support as I still can't believe I said yes to buying a knife worth more than some pistols aka slight buyers remorse....

The graphic is on a polished ti surface, if you carry it in pocket for any period of time it will end up very scratched and dinged up. Great knives, you will be happy with the quality but might end up sad that your pretty finish doesn't stay perfect.

I can speak to this as I purchased a night sky unique. I've carried it quite a bit over the last year clipped in the pockect, suffering from coins and keys.

The results is I have a couple of really good scratches right across the graphic, and lots of smaller ones. The colors seem to have dulled a fair amount as well.

I'd reccomend carrying it in a ouch or sheath.

Buyers remorse? Go ahead and use it and appreciate it everyday. That fades pretty quickly.
