Folks,
I just got an awesome E-Nep a few weeks ago from Thailand. "Awesome" just about sums-up the quality, balance, look, hair-popping convex grind/polish, etc. (pretty-much an exact clone of this one and sheath)
Only problem is that the lower humidity here is causing the wooden sheath to warp and it is splitting at the glue-line between the 2 halves.
What are your recommendations on repairing this warping sheath?
Option #1 fill cracked gap with Gorilla Glue & clamp. Will this be enough?
Option #2 separate sheath panels along glue line, reglue & clamp
Option #3 separate sheath panels and let wood complete drying for 3-6 months before regluing.
Option #4 any better suggestion
Your knowledge is appreciated, thanks!
