I was looking around youtube and i ran across this trailer for a movie that was shot in 2008.

Its called RED.

The basics of the storyline is that an old timer is out fishing with his dog when a group of young kids come up and hassle him. Eventually the one kid shoots the dog right infront of the guy. He takes every step possible to see things through in a lawful way.

Talking to the kids parents (who seem indifferent).

Talking with the law

Nothing seems to work.

He gets his house burned down after a confrontation with the kid who shot his dog and when he goes to confront the family of the kid hes looking down the barrel of a gun.

The trailer doesnt show much and i havent seen the movie yet but it got me thinking. What would i do or how far would i go if someone murdered my best buddy right infront of me.

Personally I think i woulda went for the kid right then and there and put him out for good. His friends can go to hell with him.

Just thought i'd share this with you guys, maybe hear some personal stories where others had mistreated your dog and how you reacted.

Sounds like the plot to a Steven Seagal movie. I'll pass.

Okay, for the first little while in the trailer, I thought it looked a little hokey... by the end I vowed to watch it. Damn power of trailers! I wanna see that fictitious spoiled brat get what's comin' to him, dammit!!!

He should have gone to PETA. :D

Red is one of the best movies I've seen this year and I would recommend renting it.

I'm going to keep how I would react to myself.

Trailer reminded me of Gran Torino.
Looks pretty good. :D

I'm very defensive over my pets. So much so that I give off an aura of not to be messed with concerning them. That's one thing I'll fight for my dogs and the other is my family and friends.

Where'd I put my 6-pack of whoopass now.

That kid was sick and needed a community/medical approach not popularly offered in society, like those kids at Columbine if anyone had been onto them before they did what they did so it's no wonder he may have met a violent end [I haven't seen the movie but I'm ordering a copy soon], a shame but violence does in fact beget violence, such is the way of things in these dark times. Thanks for the thread.

Now I want to see a movie where someone kills Anton Chigurh's dog...

Or Max von Sydow's pet in something like a mix of Ol' Yeller and The Virgin Spring. :D

Kill my pet right in front of me...your odds ain't gonna be real good......

ditto. with great respect that this is a family forum, i will refrain from a full comment. suffice to say payback is a dish best served up much later, when they least expect it. If it came down to people like this, there would be blood. Their blood. their boyfriends/GF's blood, their parents blood and lots of it.
