ok so my manix and chinook II have inspired me to get their lil bros the lil temp. so my question is how far off is the "new" redesigned lil temp? has anybody seen it in concept form at the shows? i don't want to get the current one and then the new one gets released a week later.

any more news on the new lil temp???

Since no pics are released yet, the Li'l Temp 2 is at least more than 6 months away. I'd guess it'll take a year or so before it's ready and in my hands. I did see and handle the prototype. Very cool, but it needs finishing still.

If Sal isn't even showing a proto at shows yet, then I wouldn't expect to see it in 2006. Sounds like a 2007 model.

Holy cow!
Someone tell me it's not true please! I've been expecting this knife since the beginning of this year!

He was showing a stereo lithograph of the updated li'l temperance at the last Blade. That's sort of a working model but not exactly a prototype IIRC. It was sweet. However, he's indicated on here that we should be patient. I guesstimate it will be late, late this year or the middle of next year before we see it, but that's just my guesstimate and I'm not affiliated with the company so you can take that for what it's worth.

They didn't even bring the stereo lithograph of the newer design to Blade 05 so I'm guessing that means it's pretty far off into the future.

Hi lreed,

Still on hold.

sorry.

I currently have 55 Spyderco design projects and 15 byrd design projects on my plate, plus a few sharpeners.

The lil temp model is having some major problems with outside vendors (for the 2nd time). We'd like to make the entire thing in the Golden factory, but capacity is an issue at this time. We have a designs for an FRN version and a Titan integral Compression lock version, but at this time, no way to make them.

That would be certainly be enough to make me buy a Lil' Temp II to go along with my Lil' Temp I

I'm sure Spyderco will find some things to improve, but the original design is still a great knife. There's no need to wait.

Thanks Mr. Glesser. kinda disappointing for me though, but thanks for the update.
55 spydies and 15 birdies! That's a lot of heart attacks coming up! Please, please, please put the lil'T at the head of the queue. I know there are lots of people like me waiting eagerly for this model.
