How Fast is the WAVE?

#1 Don't argue with a knucklehead. In this case, since the guy obviously does not know what a Wave is, he's probably a knucklehead - when it comes to Emerson, Waved Knives.

#2 Try not to break Rule #1

#3 When you find yourself trying to educate people, it is hard to walk away even though you know the truth. F*ck'em, let it go...

#4 Ignore all the Rules and do what you want. :D
 
Just to make a point with these airheads. I have been on a timer several times and in several edged weapons courses. My fastest time so far has been .80 seconds with a 98 Commander from my right front pocket. My fastest time I have recorded with a Glock pistol during a factory Glock instructor course was .80 seconds from a Mad Dog gunglove in exposed carry (single shot at 5 yards with a good hit). Now the point of all this. I don't carry my Glock in exposed carry very often. I am usually carrying an Eagle fanny pack (draw times usually run about 1.5 seconds). I do always have a waved Emerson in my Rt. front pocket. So what do think is coming out in my hand if suddenly attacked? You guys did the right thing. Put up or shut up. I have found nobody with any folder (autos included) who can remotely beat me with a waved Commander or P-Sark. I have seen just about everything imagineable in several of these classes (Steve Tarani is big on doing these deployment exercises on the timer), and when it gets down to the guys in class who can deploy in under a second, one brand of folder is in this exclusive club-waved Emersons. It is Steve Tarani's #1 recommended tactical folder for every day defensive carry for this reason.
 
Now you know why I haven't been to Glocktalk in two years. It's a haven for twelve year olds with computer access and Trolls. Don't get me wrong, I would imagine that the majority of the members are well meaning, educated people, but I just can't take the rest.
 
havent ever gotten out the stopwatch, but my commander deploys so much faster than.......well anything i got its not even funny (spyderco,BM,REKAT,buck/strider/crawford/etc)

i used to think the wave was a BS gimmick, and posted this many times and am man enough to admit if i am wrong...

i was wrong, i dont think anything will deploy as fast as a waved emerson, period

and the kicker is its one of those things were ya go why didnt i think of that???

I do not own one, but I have seen them deployed.....FAST!!!
 
When people ask me if the Commander is a good knife, I reply that it replaced 2 auto's as my daily carry - 3 years ago. And hasn't left my pocket since.

Until it got boring (ie, everyone hated losing), we'd have races to see who could get their knife out the fastest. The Commander would beat everything hands down in "from the pocket to strike ready".

Fast? Fast enough.
 
Faster than you can say "How the hell did you do that?"
 
I too was an auto nut till I got my first Commander. What's the point of the auto now? Gadget factor I guess. Faster than anything to date. Except a fixed blade of course.
