Most of it is massesed produced junk but I have seen some makers down there who are pretty good. But the most of it is junk.

I agree. IMHO, the chinese imports are barely worth the metal they're made from, which incidentally, is about the cheapest metal around. If you can't spend a lot on a knife, get a Jaguar and replace the pins with finishing nails (directions on how to do that are at www.balisongxtreme.com).
