Hello folks, having no, and i mean no experiance with Kershaw knives, ever, not once since i've been collecting knives have i ever touched a Kershaw. But now this will change, i have ordered a Ricochet, and Black Out from a private source, and want to know how these knives are, please help me, thanks.

1-how are the lock ups, and are the liners thick, or very thin.

*********MY MAIN QUESTION IS THIS*****

Okay, i called the gal at Kershaw, and she said they are designed(ricochet) to with stand alot of openings, is this true, i know the torsion-bar flips the blade out hard, but will this make excess wear????

I got a ricochet for Christmas, and I've carried it about half of the days since then (it shares time with my Spyderco---I definitely don't leave my house without at least one of them). The ricochet holds an edge for the LONGEST time, and is a solid little knife. I'll bet I've opened it 2 to 3 thousand times, and it is still tight and just like new.....my thumb was a little sore at first (couldn't quit deploying the blade), but I quickly got used to it and now it's not a problem at all.

Just because the river is still doesn't mean that the alligators have gone.

I bought a Blackout about Nov. 99. When I first got the knife the lock would easily disengage with just a little downward pressure to the blade. I finally sent the knife back and I have received it back with a new liner and lock which locks the blade open solidly. The speed safe mechansism is showing no signs of wear. Overall, it is one of my favorite knives.
